Biographies of Authors and EditorsBrunette, Donald Maxwell Ph.D.Professor and Associate Dean Research Don Brunette obtained his B.Sc. in Chemistry, and his M.Sc. & Ph.D. degrees in Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. After postdoctoral research at York University, he joined the Medical Research Council Group in Periodontal Physiology at the University of Toronto as Assistant Professor, and subsequently moved to the University of British Columbia in 1979. Since 1983 his research has concentrated on the effects of surface topographies produced by microfabrication techniques on cell behavior. The long-term goal of the research has been to design surfaces with topographies that will direct appropriate cell responses to implanted devices. Dr. BrunetteÕs also directs research on the effects of baking soda products on oral malodor. He authored ÒCritical Thinking: Understanding and Evaluating Dental ResearchÓ (Quintessence, 1996) that won an award from the American Medical Writers Association. |
