Biographies of Authors and EditorsKlabunde, Ralf Mech. Eng. in Applied BiomechanicsProject Manager Experimental Biomechanics Ralf Klabunde has a Mechanical Engineering Degree in Biomechanics. In 1997 he joined the Research Department of Sulzer Orthopedics Ltd., Winterthur, Switzerland as a Project Manager in the Experimental Biomechanics Group. Before this he spent two years in the R&D department of SQ Developments AG, Zug, Switzerland. His research interests are the interfaces of orthopedic implants with the surrounding bone and cement. A recently developed fibre-reinforced proximal femur was developed as a new testing tool to include stiffness properties of the natural bone. Furthermore he is responsible for the biomechanical testing of all upper extremity prostheses (e.g., finger, shoulder, elbow). |
